25 ST ceramic coated

Got my 2025 Sport Touring ceramic coated, and it looks incredible! The detailer started with a paint correction, then applied Gtechniq coating. He also coated the wheel faces, glass, and plastic trim. The finish is so smooth to the touch. When I picked it up yesterday, the car was in the sun, and wow—it looked absolutely stunning…

Hello. I have a 2025 CRV. How much did the coating process cost and what are the benefits?

Usually between $1500-3000 USD depending on the size of the vehicle. Benefits are to protect your paint from acidic rain, bird droppings, hard water, light scratches from automatic car washes. Water beads and drips down without leaving any streaks or white residue than without ceramic coating. Keeps your car shiny, provided you keep the car cleaned and washed. Protects your paint from oxidation from the elements.

@Aki
Thank you very much!

Would also love to hear this, I love mine but the hard water marks are always noticeable even after a car wash and am wondering if this might help prevent that

Mine was $1450.

What happens if you let a friend borrow it and they take it to a cheap car wash as a gesture of kindness?

Whoops :man_facepalming:! But I will say it’s nice of you to watch the vehicle for your friend.

Hey! What’s the cost estimate on a job like this?

Couple thousand but it’s not hard to do yourself as long as you don’t have to correct the paint beforehand.

Looks so nice!! I need to get mine coated.

How much did it cost? Is paint correction necessary for a new car?

$1450. I’m no expert but I do have some knowledge on detailing. You’d be surprised how “bad” factory paint can be. I discovered a run in the clear coat right near the tail light.

@Rowan
I also found a paint blemish on my new car. There are ripples in the paint in between the | | parts of the rear H badge and a small knick on the raised bezel around the badge. Honda has agreed to repair under a warranty claim because I found it within 12 hours of taking delivery. It’s hard to catch everything at the dealer.

Did it have to be done when brand new? If I have 23k on a 2023 am I a candidate?

I don’t think it matters really. I wanted to get it done sooner, I have 4500 miles on this already. Though if I had to guess the paint correction process is going to be longer and harder the older and more miles due to UV damage, scratches, and contamination embedded in the paint. I’d call around to find your local applicators.

Looks great. Congratulations. If you don’t mind me asking, I don’t know much about this. I saw a McGuire’s bottle at the Walmart that said something about the ceramic wax I think. Would that be the same as this? And if so, what is ceramic coating? Would you have to get this done again in a number of years? A recoating.
What does it do? Can you get it done for vehicles after you had them for a number of years? Also, what would something like this cost if you don’t mind please?
