Best Dash Cam for My 2023 CR-V with Sunshade? Looking for Suggestions!

I’ve had my 2023 CR-V Sport Touring for a bit now and, living in a busy city, I’ve been thinking about picking up a dash cam. I use a custom-fit sunshade from WeatherTech (or something similar), so my question for those who have a sunshade that fits perfectly—what dash cam are you using?

I’m considering the Fitcamx, but after reading through the dashcam forum, a lot of people are saying the video quality isn’t worth the price. Visual clarity is really important to me, and apparently, Viofo models are highly recommended for that. The problem is, they stick out quite a bit from the windshield and might mess with my sunshade setup. Wondering if any other CR-V owners have dash cams that work well with a snug sunshade?

Thanks in advance for the suggestions!

I also chose the Viofo A129 for the sunshade issue. It protrudes slightly, but adjusting the sunshade to accommodate it works well enough. It’s not ideal, but it’s effective. However, the Viofo’s clarity is exceptional, making it a worthwhile trade-off for the slight hassle.

Have you thought about the Garmin Dash Cam Mini 2? It’s super compact and shouldn’t interfere with your sunshade at all. The video quality is solid for such a small device, and it’s pretty much invisible from the outside. Plus, it’s easy to install!

Fitcamx was my first choice too, but after reading the same stuff about video quality, I went with the BlackVue DR900X. It’s a bit pricier, but the 4K footage is crystal clear, and I’ve had no issues with my sunshade. Worth every penny if clarity is your main concern!

I use the Thinkware F200 Pro in my 2023 CR-V. It’s slim, so it doesn’t mess with my WeatherTech sunshade at all. The video quality is good, and it’s got some nice safety features like parking mode. Definitely worth checking out.

I’m a big fan of Viofo! I own a Viofo A119 V3 and sure, it’s a bit noticeable, but lowering the sunshade slightly works for me. The footage quality is top-notch, and I prefer a tiny gap in the sunshade over losing that video sharpness any day.
