I recently bought a 2024 Honda CR-V with just over 6,000 miles on it, and I’ve started noticing a creaking sound coming from the steering wheel whenever I turn left or right. It’s not super loud, but it’s definitely there and kind of annoying.
I took it to the dealership, but they told me this noise is normal for this model and that there’s nothing they can really do about it.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue with their CR-V? Should I push the dealership harder to fix it, or is this really something I just have to live with?
Not normal, had this issue and dealership replaced some wires to make it go away. If they continue with saying it’s normal, tell them to try another new CR-V and check that there is no such noise.
Mine’s doing this too. I thought the gearbox recall would fix it, but mine’s still doing it. Debating taking it to another dealership soon or waiting to ask when they do the fuel line recall.

I had the same thing and it was a clock spring. I found the info searching on here and was pleasantly surprised that the dealership immediately agreed and fixed it. Keep pushing - it’s the clock spring.
There is a recall out for steering components. But this shouldn’t be an issue. Definitely tell the dealer you want it fixed as that is not normal at all.
