CRV Hybrid Crew

39K out the door, so I added the winter mats and the wheel locks

What a great deal. I find it interesting how different loan and lease payments can be

I leased once and won’t do it again. I thought the dealership was solid. They acted fine until I said I wanted to walk away without buying or leasing again; that’s when they tried to charge me for everything.

@Roan
What happened exactly? Did they hit you with fees when you tried to walk away from the lease?

It was a complete mess. They acted like I couldn’t return the car because they had too much inventory. Then they tried to pressure me into buying it or facing ridiculous wear and tear fees. I did turn it in without any extra charges, but the guilt trip and drama were unreal. I usually don’t let people push me around, but they really tried my patience.

@Roan
What brand should we avoid leasing from?

Acura, but you should know it really depends on the dealership. Several family members have had smooth leases at different dealers.

@Roan
My worst experience was also at an Acura, funny enough

Wow, a 5k discount!

I’m in the DC Metro area, with 50 dealers within 50 miles. You just have to negotiate with them.

Nice negotiating skills. I’m searching for a certified pre-owned CR-V Hybrid around Nova. It seems much better than the RAVs around here!

Thanks! I don’t really know what CPO means, but make sure you don’t show up without getting the deal in writing first. Salespeople are focused on their profits, so keep them at a distance until you have a solid offer. Contacting Internet sales reps is a good way to get started since they’re more aggressive and can give you a written offer. Of course, ensure there’s plenty of that model available. It won’t work the same way for a RAV4, and if they change the terms on you, just leave. I had to do that at one place a couple of days ago.

@Roan
Thanks for the advice! I just saw your post about your hit-and-run – glad you’re okay. Those entrance and exit ramps on 395 are filled with crazy drivers! Definitely a reminder to get a dash cam when upgrading our vehicle.

@Perry
Thanks, I’m doing alright. Definitely get a dash cam!

Yes, having a dash cam is crucial. It’s often not useful, 99.99% of the time, but you’ll wish you had one when something goes wrong.

I recommend the COXPAL A11T 3 channel dash cam from Amazon; it records the front, inside, and rear all at the same time.

There’s an optional hardwire kit for 24-hour parking monitoring.

For reliable recording, use a SanDisk MAX Endurance 256GB or 512GB microSD card.

And pay attention to the installation position of the rear camera, especially for sedans, to avoid pulling the rear camera cable when opening or closing the trunk.

What rate did you get?

They offered 0% for 24 to 36 months, 2.9 for 48 to 60 months, and 4.90 for 72 months.

0% for 24-36 months is insane. I wish I had that deal when I was buying mine.

@Hale
I got my 2021 hybrid at 0.0% for 48 months during the pandemic. Just paid it off.

I bought mine around May, and the lowest they could offer me was 2.9%. That wasn’t too bad considering I heard rates were 7% just 6 months prior.

The best they could do for 72 months was 4.90.
