First-Time Buyer Here - Curious About Warranties for 2025 CR-V Hybrid

Hey everyone,
I’m looking to get the new 2025 CR-V Hybrid, and I was wondering if anyone could break down the standard warranties for me, including any service warranties? This is my first car, so I’m also curious if anyone here purchased extra warranties from Honda or somewhere else. How much did they cost? Appreciate any insight!

Hey, congrats on your first car! Standard warranty usually covers 3 years/36,000 miles for everything, and 5 years/60,000 miles for the powertrain. For hybrids, you get an 8-year/100,000-mile warranty on the battery too. I didn’t buy any extra warranties, but the dealer tried to push one. You’ll probably be fine with the standard ones unless you’re super worried!

Welcome to the CR-V family! I bought the extended warranty for peace of mind. I think it was about $1,800 for an additional 5 years. It covers things like electronics and some random stuff that’s not part of the regular warranty. Probably not necessary for everyone, but it’s nice knowing I’m covered for longer

First…congratulations . I skipped the extra warranties. The CR-V is super reliable, especially the hybrids, so you might not need anything more than what Honda offers. Dealers usually try to sell you the extended ones for profit. I suggest doing some research and thinking about how long you plan to keep the car

I didn’t bother with extra warranties either. Standard is pretty solid, and with regular maintenance, you’re good. I asked around, and most people don’t see value in the extended ones unless you drive a ton.

My two cents: if you’re not planning to keep the car for more than 5 years, skip the extended warranty. I’ve had my CR-V for 7 years now with zero major issues. I did buy a service plan, though, which covers oil changes and tire rotations. It was around $600 but has been worth it for me.
