Honda recalling almost 1.7 million vehicles over ‘sticky’ steering issue

Honda Accord, Civic, and CR-V Recalled Due to Fuel Pump Problem

I just bought a used CR-V 2019 in Canada last week, and all warning lights started blinking today. I was able to drive slowly with hazard lights on, but the car wouldn’t go over 20 km/h. After an hour, it worked fine again. Could this be related to the fuel pump recall?

I had the recalls done. They replaced parts and added grease to the steering gearbox. The fuel pump was inspected, and no leaks were found. My steering finally feels smooth again after multiple complaints to the dealer.

I went in for the fuel pump and steering recalls. My car was ready in about two hours. They said my fuel pump was fine, and I never had any steering issues, so it was a quick visit.

I had the recalls handled during my state inspection. For the steering, they just added grease, and my fuel pump was fine. I’ve driven nearly 40k miles without problems. Glad my car wasn’t affected badly.

@Dakota
I had a similar experience. Everything went smoothly during my visit.

I had the recall work done recently. The steering components were replaced, and grease was added. The fuel pump was inspected and was fine. My brakes have been squeaky, and the dealer said it’s due to eco-friendly pads. The car drives well now, and the steering feels smoother.

After getting the steering recall fixed on my 2025 CR-V Hybrid EX-L, I noticed a lot of wind and engine noise near the driver’s side. The dealer claims it’s unrelated, but the noise is significant. Has anyone else had this issue?

I had both recalls done on my 2024 CR-V Sport-L at 9,800 miles. The sticky steering was fixed, though I hadn’t noticed any issues before. The fuel pump was inspected and found to be fine. The car runs great, and I hope it stays reliable for years to come.

My dealer says they don’t have the parts for my CR-V recalls, even though Honda’s letter says the parts were shipped. I’m starting to lose trust in them. My partner’s Civic is in the same situation.

I got a recall for my 2006 CR-V related to window electronics. It feels strange for such an old car, but they replaced the parts quickly.

My daughter’s CR-V had the fuel pump recall, but it didn’t fix her issues. The dealer now says all the injectors need replacing for $2,000 and blames bad gas. I think the faulty pump caused it. How can I prove this?

@Charlie
Injector issues can cause warning lights, but if the pump didn’t leak, it might not be related.

@Charlie
I have the same concerns. My CR-V is showing multiple warning lights, and I’m afraid they’ll blame injectors. I can’t afford that repair right now.

I’ve been waiting since October to get my steering recall fixed. My dealership keeps saying they’ll call me when parts are available. Is this normal?

Same here. My dealer finally got the parts last month after a lot of follow-ups.

The dealer told me to call back after the holidays about the recalls. It’s frustrating to wait without any clear timeline.

If you don’t smell gas or see leaks, your car should be safe to drive for now.

I think this thread should help people share their actual experiences with recalls rather than waiting for admins to address every concern.
