Passed 250,000 miles on 2014 CR-V EX yesterday

Any issues you have had with it? I have a 2012.

None whatsoever! I get all the maintenance as needed and that’s been about it.

I have a 2012 as well…the only issue I’ve had is the VTC actuator replaced twice. Wbu?

How many miles when you first had issues with VTC? So they were required fixes?

Only real issue I’ve had is rear caliper had to be replaced. 65k miles on mine currently.

@Brynn
About 120k the first time and then literally about a year later. From what I understand it’s not a required fix but the actuator makes a terrible noise on cold start when it wears out. Cost me $2000 the first time cause I got the timing chain and tensioners replaced and about $1000 the next time. If it comes back I’m just gonna live with it. Runs great other than that.

@Wylie
How long after the first one did you have to get it fixed again?

Almost exactly a year later.

Honestly that’s awesome. Another 250k to go.

371k on a 2012, you’ve got some time for sure.

Water pump? Transmission? And noticeable issues?

None at all. I get the maintenance done as needed and haven’t had any issues, that’s probably why I feel a little uneasy about the high mileage.

@Darby
I think you’re fine if you haven’t had any issues. Yes, mileage is high but if you’ve maintained it as you say, it’s just getting started. I have a 2014 EX-L and it has about 149,000 miles. Still drives like the day I bought it and nice to see it will for another 100,000. Curious if you know if the timing chain has been replaced? I was thinking of doing that as just preventative.

We have 177k on our 2015, which was meticulously maintained by my husband’s uncle. Runs great and will be our daughter’s first car this spring.

What kind of MPG do you get?

I have the same car and year, 136k miles, 22 MPG in the city and as much as 28.5 MPG if on an extended road trip with a lot of highway miles… currently only driving it about 7,000 miles a year on average, and 1,800 of those miles were one road trip.

Had to replace the actuator at about 110k after it locked up.

50k on my '21 nice dude.

That’s awesome! I’ve got a 2015 that’s approaching does math 125,000 miles (I’m in Canada).

Mind if I ask you what your average mileage is? I drive in econ all the time and while I do let it warm up a bit in the winter, I always seem to run high.

Congratulations on the achievement! I’m driving this thing till the wheels fall off lol.

2012 with 166k

Burns oil.
Replace my oil now every 3k.

Items done:
Front passenger axle leak.
Rear shocks leak.
VTC @ 90k, came back @ 120k & decided to leave it as I wasn’t going to pay another 1k.
Door actuators, front passenger, both rear doors, and hatch.
Starter gave out @ 142k.

2014 CR-V EX with 142k and mine likes to eat oil. I now go every 3k for an oil change. It just started this year. Other than that, the car is in great shape! Only thing, I would like to replace the radio but finding one that will work with all the controls plus have a CD player is going to be expensive.

@Eli
I’d like a dash unit that could play video for my toddler in the back. Mine is a 2015. I did find the front passenger headrest will raise enough I can jam a phone between it and the top of the seat, but since her car seat is in the middle and a 2 DIN screen would be large enough for her to somewhat comfortably watch videos, that would be a better long-term fix. Do modern Android Auto units run apps like YouTube? Is it like operating your phone, just on a larger screen? Or are there limitations? I’ve never had a car with Android Auto, so I don’t know anything about it.

Right on. How many miles did it have when you bought it? What type of maintenance do you give it?
