Or get the possum’s insurance info next time!
Haha, true. Insurance calls a collision unless the possum runs into your car—then it’s comprehensive. Even so, it’s a 2004 model and likely fully depreciated.

@Ozzie
Just last Friday, a Tesla in front of me stopped abruptly for a cat!

Swerve for people, and maybe animals if they’re bigger than your car, like moose.
Unfortunately, it’s a parts car now. It could be worth something to someone who rebuilds CR-Vs.
Did the opossum survive?

The opossum fled the scene. It didn’t stick around to see if I was okay or to exchange insurance info.
Don’t be fooled by appearances; she’s a goner.
The CR-V held up well, but you need a new body.
Roll that CR-V into the garbage. No insurance will want to repair it. Just enjoy a $150 total payout.
Is it an automatic or manual?
Consider transplanting the interior to a similar car that needs rescuing, and swapping good parts over like others suggested. Then scrap the rest.
Good as a farm vehicle. But get an ideal donor truck.
It’s not roadworthy anymore. Glad you’re okay.
Oof, she really got hit hard.
At this point, that’s not safe for you anymore. It’s time to move on, as hard as that is.
You can totally fix that! Just buff it out!
If it has the K24 engine, someone might buy that. But yeah, it’s done for, bud.
No one is fixing that.
Time to move on. Sometimes it’s a tough call, but necessary.
Collision coverage might not be worth it for such an old vehicle. Just part it out.
It’s over, my friend.
