Trade In or Keep Going at 100k Miles?

Hey y’all, I’m coming up on 100k miles with my 2016 CR-V and I’m kinda torn on what to do next. Thinking about trading it in for something newer with fewer miles ‘cause I hate dealing with the repairs that start popping up after this point.

That said, I really like my CR-V, but man, have y’all seen used car prices lately? :flushed:

Anyone here make it to 200k miles on theirs? What kind of maintenance should I be doing now to keep things running smoothly? Appreciate any advice!

I’ve got a 2014 CR-V at 160k and it’s been a beast! As long as you’ve been keeping up with basic stuff like oil changes, you’re good to go. At 100k, you should look into stuff like the timing belt (if you haven’t done it already) and maybe a transmission fluid change. These cars are built to last!

My 2015 hit 210k last month, and it’s still running smooth. Did a few minor things around 120k like brake pads and a serpentine belt. Other than that, just keep up with fluids and you’ll be golden. Used car prices are crazy right now, so you might save a bunch sticking with what you got.

You like the car, and used car prices are insane right now. Why pay more for something that’s gonna give you the same mileage in a few years? Just keep up with the usual stuff like fluids, brakes, and filters. You could get another 100k out of her easily.

If your CR-V hasn’t given you any major headaches yet, it’s probably worth keeping. I’ve got 195k on mine, and other than the usual wear and tear, it’s still a solid daily driver. Just make sure to do the big stuff like timing belts, brake fluid, and coolant. You’ll save a lot compared to buying a new car.

Yeah, you could trade it in, but unless you’re ready to drop some serious cash on a new one, it might not be worth it. These CR-Vs are tanks if you take care of them. If you’re tired of worrying about repairs, maybe get a mechanic to give it a thorough checkup and see if it’s worth holding on to for a few more years.
