$12k for a 2016 CR-V EX AWD with 150k Miles – Worth It?

Hey everyone! I’ve got my eye on a 2016 CR-V EX AWD with 150k miles, going for $12k. I’m having my mechanic check it out tomorrow, but from what I can tell, it’s in great shape. The previous (and only) owner has kept up with all the maintenance, and there are detailed records to back it up.

I’ve looked around on KBB and similar listings in my area, and the price seems fair. My only worry is the mileage—150k in 8 years feels like a lot, but it’s probably mostly highway miles, which shouldn’t be too bad on the car.

What do you guys think? Is it a good deal or am I overpaying?

My 2013 CR-V hit 123,000 miles and the transmission gave out. Just a heads up—definitely make sure the car gets a thorough inspection before you buy!

I had a 2012 CR-V and racked up 215,000 miles on it before trading it in, mostly because the engine started to feel a bit sluggish. Never had any major issues with it though. Best of luck with yours

Those CR-Vs are built to last! As long as your mechanic gives it the thumbs up, I’d say go for it. The price is solid, and with proper care, you could easily get another 100k miles out of it. Just make sure the big-ticket items (like the transmission and timing belt) are in good shape.

As long as that maintenance has been done right, 150k isn’t a death sentence for a Honda. Just double-check with your mechanic on things like the suspension, brakes, and any signs of rust. Otherwise, seems like a solid buy

150k miles mostly on highways? Honestly, that’s not too bad. Highway driving is easier on the engine and transmission compared to city driving. Plus, with meticulous maintenance records, that’s a big win. $12k sounds like a fair deal to me!
