Dealership Deleted My Service Record?

Hey everyone,

So when I take my car to the dealership for service, it looks like they upload all the service records to Honda America, which I can view in the My Garage app or website. Makes sense, right?

But here’s something strange—I had this one visit where I felt like they didn’t do the repairs they charged me for. I’ve got some solid proof, but now the service record for that visit has mysteriously disappeared from My Garage! It’s like it never happened. BUT, it still shows up on the Carfax website, and the details match exactly what I originally saw on My Garage.

Does anyone know how the data sync between dealerships and Honda America works? Could a dealership actually delete service records after the fact, or am I just overthinking this?

That’s wild! I didn’t know dealerships could do that. Honestly, I’d be all over them, asking for a refund or at least an explanation. If it still shows on Carfax, that’s great leverage for you. Maybe even throw in a bad review to get their attention if they don’t cooperate.

Yo, this happened to me too! Not with Honda, but with another brand. My service record was gone from the app but showed up on Carfax just like yours. I had to call the corporate office to sort it out. Turned out the dealer made an “error” when submitting the info. :roll_eyes:

This might be a dealership trick. Sometimes, if they don’t want a negative repair or poor service showing up, they’ll “lose” records in the Honda system. You should get a copy of the service receipt and ask them why it’s not on My Garage anymore. Could make them nervous!

I don’t think you’re crazy! Dealerships don’t have access to delete records from Honda America. Sounds like the dealer might’ve tried to cover their tracks, but the Carfax system caught it. You should contact Honda directly and see if they can pull up a full history on their end. It’ll give you more clarity on what’s going on.
