How to Cancel Paintless Dent Repair Add-On from Dealer?

Hey everyone!

I got talked into getting paintless dent repair yesterday at the dealership for $1190 (36 months), and now I’m realizing I totally overpaid for it. :weary: I’ve been reading online that you can cancel these add-ons within 30 days, but I can’t figure out the exact process.

Do I just call the dealership and brace myself for another round of high-pressure sales? Or is there a better way to cancel without dealing with all that again? Any advice would be awesome!

Definitely call the dealership, but ask for the finance department. They’re usually the ones who handle cancellations. Be firm and don’t let them talk you into keeping it. They might try to ‘sweeten the deal,’ but just stick to your guns. You’ve got the right to cancel within that 30-day window.

I had the same thing happen to me with a tire warranty. Just go in person if you can. It’s harder for them to pressure you when you’re standing there face-to-face, plus they tend to be quicker about processing refunds that way

If you have a copy of the paperwork, check if there’s a cancellation clause. Sometimes there’s an email address or specific person listed. It might save you a painful phone call to the dealership, lol.

What I did in a similar situation was send an email to the dealership and CC the finance manager. That way, everything’s in writing, and they’re less likely to mess with you. Follow up if you don’t hear back within a couple of days.

You can also try contacting the bank or finance company if the cost was rolled into your car loan. They might be able to cancel the add-on through them without you even needing to deal with the dealer.
