Is the 2025 Honda CR-V EX-L a Reliable Long-Term Choice?

I’m currently in the market for a new car and just took the 2025 Honda CR-V EX-L for a test drive. Absolutely loved it (not considering the hybrid, though). However, I’ve come across some talk about engine issues with this model. I plan to keep this car for at least 10 years, so I’m wondering if it’s a solid long-term choice or if I should keep looking? Also, I want something that’s low maintenance. Any advice would be super helpful. Thanks!

It’s a great ride, no doubt! Honda’s are known for their longevity, but if you’ve heard about engine issues, it’s worth keeping an eye on. I’d suggest waiting for some reliability reports to come in, especially since it’s a brand-new model. If you’re set on Honda, maybe check out the 2024 model for a safer bet?

I had the same concerns about the engine! I ended up going with the 2024 model and so far, zero issues. But I totally get wanting the newer features in the 2025. Just make sure to read up on the engine issue and maybe see what your local dealership says about it too.

Honestly, CR-Vs are usually super reliable. My old one lasted me 12 years with minimal maintenance. But yeah, engine issues can be a red flag. If you want peace of mind, maybe check out the Toyota RAV4 as a backup option? Low maintenance and also built to last!

I test drove the 2025 CR-V too and loved it! But I ended up getting a RAV4 because I kept reading about potential engine issues. If you’re planning to keep the car for a decade, you might want to make sure everything’s sorted with the engine first. Hondas are great, but long-term peace of mind is important.

I’ve been a Honda owner for years, and they usually hold up well. The first-year models can sometimes have quirks, though. If it were me, I’d wait a year to see if any common problems crop up. Or just go with the 2024!
