Combined with the wiper blade fluid lines and lack of windshield fluid sensor in the US, this car was clearly not designed for those of us in snowy climates.
Devil’s advocate: I tend to avoid wanting sensors in vehicles because my husband and I like to keep our cars for as long as possible. He has an old Navigator, and the only issues we have with it are with creature comfort sensors failing—those are incredibly annoying when they go out!
I can definitely see why some would be more important in climates that differ from mine, though.

For this particular sensor, it can be pretty poor timing if you’re in the middle of a snow storm and all the sudden the fluid runs out. You make a good point, but I actually see this as a safety feature.
No I think yours is extra. Mine (2025 LX) leaves about 3 inches unwiped but the spot is parallel to the windshield post. Not that big V formation that yours has.
I wonder if the wiper arm is positioned too far down as it’s resting position. Try unbolting it and rotating in a few degrees up and see how much better it is.
Yes! I can’t remember noticing it when we bought our 2024 last year since we don’t get too much rain, but I noticed it after I got my windshield replaced (rock/crack) and I thought that maybe the Safelite tech didn’t align something correctly when reinstalling. I was planning to ask the dealership about it during my next oil change.
