Just got a 2025 CRV EX-L last week. Is it weird that the windshield wiper doesn’t go all the way to the edge of the window? It leaves a pretty wide strip of unwiped window

The whole windshield wiper design/system is shockingly bad. I’ve driven my 2024 nearly 20k miles and I still lol every time I use the fluid.

Why does the ‘single wipe for mist’ move at like a lightning speed? That bothers me too. It’s aggressively fast.

@Frost
It’s a Honda thing lol, the single wipe has always been the fastest speed on every Honda we owned.

It’s for emergency when like a huge puddle gets splashed on you I assume.

@Frost
It’s to throw the water off the side, but it does a poor job of that.

@Frost
That Single wipe action is a flick wipe designed to scrape & toss snow away hard and fast… OP’s car has the wiper blade resting too low, a 5 minute job. The wiper blades were fixed when the car was possibly on instead of off.

Yeah, not sure what genius thought a sprayless system made sense. You have to repeatedly tap the sprayer to dispense enough fluid before you have the confidence that there’s enough lubrication happening that you don’t drag a dry ass wiper across your windshield. It was a solution to a non-existent problem.

Yea idk why it doesn’t spray out…

I find it works great, what’s the problem with it?

@Kim
With the old style you could tap it for a little spray and let it soak in for a second. I miss that.

@Kim
I really like it myself after I’ve gotten used to it.

To me it makes sense, doesn’t waste any washer fluid, works no problem for me. And it gets super cold in Canada lots of snow, no issues.

@Kim
One problem is you no longer can replace the insert. You have to replace the whole wiper blade for more money. The other problem is it just doesn’t put enough washer fluid on the windshield.

I just replaced the inserts 3 weeks ago. I used a small screwdriver to remove the end cap, then I slid the old one out and the new one in. I purchased silicone inserts on Amazon, so much better than the streaking stock ones.

@Kim
I can’t spray the cars behind me that just came out of the car wash. Like I’ve always done with my cars in the past.

@Kim
Ya people hopped on the bandwagon to hate the design because it’s different. It’s literally not even bad and works fine. Plenty of fluid, if not more than normal sprayers.

My 2013 was bad too!

Guess nothing’s changed. I recently got a 2014 and I’ve been very surprised at how much of the windshield is entirely unaffected by the wipers/fluid. A true design/function flaw.

Combined with the wiper blade fluid lines and lack of windshield fluid sensor in the US, this car was clearly not designed for those of us in snowy climates.
