Hey everyone,
I’m currently deciding between the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, Toyota Highlander, and Honda Pilot. I’ve been hearing mixed reviews lately—some say the 2025 Pilots have ongoing issues with electric components and steering problems. Not sure about the CR-V yet. I’ve heard the Highlanders are generally reliable, but there are some concerns about rattling noises and dealer markups are a bit frustrating.
What are your thoughts on the reliability of the new CR-V? Any insight would be greatly appreciated

I’ve been following the new CR-V too. It seems like Honda addressed the issues with previous models, so I wouldn’t worry too much about reliability. The Pilot’s issues are definitely something to keep in mind, and Highlanders can be hit or miss. If you’re leaning towards reliability, the CR-V is a solid choice!

Just a couple of minor issues with my 2023 CR-V: the rubber around the passenger door has come loose a few times. I had the dealership fix it once, but it came off again. Also, my friend pulled down the visor on the passenger side, and the wiring that holds it up came out, so now the visor just dangles. I also think for the price of the Sport trim, the tailgate should be operable with the key fob and have a button to close it on the tailgate itself. Other than that, I really love my CR-V!

Just picked up my 2025 EX-L two weeks ago and I’m around 600 miles in, mostly from a family road trip this past weekend. Everything’s been great so far—super smooth ride, doesn’t feel cheap at all, and the leather seats are really comfy. No regrets so far!

Just put 2k miles on my brand new 2025 Sport L AWD, and boom—sticky steering. Took it to the Honda dealership, and they “fixed” it the same day. Not sure if it’s actually fixed or just a temporary fix, but I’d rather deal with this than a VW Taos with a blown head gasket! Still feels like the steering issue isn’t fully resolved, though.

I’ve already put 15K miles on my '24 since I got it last August, and it’s been smooth sailing—no issues at all!

Could just be the norm for vehicles these days, but my 2023 CR-V is definitely the least impressive and most problematic car I’ve owned out of all the new ones I’ve had over the years. It’s not falling apart or anything, but there are a lot of little issues and it feels pretty cheap, which is surprising for a Honda. I’m not in a rush to ditch it since I like it overall and don’t want to take a hit on resale, but if I could go back, I wouldn’t have bought it, no doubt about it.
