Oil Change Question: Is It Normal to Have Only 50% Oil Life at 10k km?

Hi everyone, I’m at 10,000 km and my oil life is only at 50%. I haven’t done my first oil change yet. Is this normal?

Each car and oil type is different. If you haven’t had any issues and your car’s oil life indicator is just showing 50%, you might be fine for now. But if it’s your first oil change, it wouldn’t hurt to do it early just to ensure everything’s in good shape…

Honestly, if you want this engine to last, get that oil changed ASAP! …Car companies want the engine to last until the warranty’s up, but not much longer. They also want to advertise low maintenance costs. :moneybag: If you care about this car, change the oil when the minder goes on or even a bit earlier, like around 40%. It’s the best way to keep it running smoothly for a long time.

Hey there! Have you asked your dealer about getting an early oil change under Honda Service Pass? :red_car: It’s super important to change your oil regularly (at least every 6 months) to keep your engine running smoothly. :wrench: Some dealers make you wait for the Maintenance Minder light to come on, but others might be cool about doing it early. Enjoy the ride! :motorway:

Yo, time for a car checkup… Your Honda’s first oil change should be around 7,500 miles, then every 15,000 miles if you’re using synthetic oil…If you have an AWD model, Honda will also give your rear differential fluid a fresh change at the first oil change. :+1:

Change your oil more often, man…If you wanna know why, watch the Oil Geek on YouTube. He’s a real scientist, not just some guy with an opinion. He’ll show you how more frequent oil changes can keep your engine running smooth. Or, you could just trust the car salespeople. They want your car to last forever right? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:
