Rear-End Accident with My 2024 CRV Sport – Need Advice on Insurance Settlement

Hey everyone, my 2024 CRV Sport L AWD Hybrid got rear-ended the other day. I’m currently dealing with the insurance company about the damages. Any idea how much my car’s value might depreciate because of this? Also, what else should I try to negotiate with them during the settlement?"

Sorry to hear about the accident! As for depreciation, it depends on the extent of the damage and the repair quality. Usually, you can expect a hit on the resale value, so definitely bring that up. Also, don’t forget to ask about rental car coverage while yours is in the shop!

That sucks, man! I’d push for a diminished value claim since your car’s now considered ‘damaged goods’ even after repairs. Also, make sure they cover any medical expenses if needed, and don’t settle too quickly – they might lowball you.

Been there with my old ride. Don’t forget to ask for OEM parts instead of aftermarket ones. It might make a difference in the long run. And yeah, rental reimbursement is a must!

Definitely look into the diminished value thing – it can be a decent chunk of change. And don’t forget to review your policy to see if there’s anything else they should cover, like lost wages if you had to miss work.

Sorry to hear about the hit. I’d say depreciation could be around 10-20%, but that’s just a rough guess. Push for everything you can – repairs, rental, OEM parts, and even compensation for the hassle. Good luck!
