Weird Wind Noise on Bluetooth Calls—Help!

Hey fam, whenever I talk with my girlfriend on the phone while driving and connected to Bluetooth, she complains that it always sounds like there’s wind blowing into the car or the microphone… even when my windows are fully closed! Anyone else experience this? Any idea what could be causing it?

Yeah, I’ve had this issue too! It’s probably just the road noise being picked up by your car’s mic. Sometimes it’s positioned awkwardly, and even with the windows closed, it grabs all the ambient sounds. You might wanna check if your mic is near any vents too, could be air blowing from those.

Happened to me! I fixed it by lowering the fan speed on my A/C. Even though the windows are up, the airflow can get picked up by the mic. Give it a try and see if that helps!

Same problem here! It’s the Bluetooth mic placement. You can try using your phone’s mic for calls instead of the car’s. I did that, and my wife stopped complaining about the ‘mystery wind’ sounds

Yup, totally had this with my old car. One time, I realized the mic was actually damaged, which caused the weird wind noise. Ended up getting it replaced and the problem was gone. Maybe check that too?

Had the same experience, super frustrating! What worked for me was using an external Bluetooth mic. It’s a bit of a hassle, but the sound quality was way better and no more ‘wind’ noises. Might be worth considering if all else fails.

Thanks so much for the suggestions, everyone! Didn’t even think about things like fan speed or mic placement. I’ll definitely give those a try and see if they help. Love this community!
