2006 CR-V is the best car I’ve ever owned

My sister’s got like 17 MPG, but it was a fantastic car otherwise.

My '07 gets about 17 MPG to 18 maybe 19 at best. No matter how tame I drive.

Why is MPG so bad lol? What was the maintenance like on her car?

Seems like that’s par for the course on these.

Miss my 2007 sometimes.

I have a '06 six-speed diesel in black. I love it too. I think they hold up alright style-wise too. Over 130K miles with minimal maintenance costs so far.

I wish I had the exterior spare on the back so bad. Looks so good! Also, I did not like that shifter when it came out, now I love it.

I had a manual 2004 AWD… incredibly balanced, other than the picnic table. Loved the rear pop-out window (lumber mover), the rear seats also had a slide mechanism for more leg room, and the center console folded away (great for getting into the back seat to help kids). But perhaps reliability and fun driving in the snow was the greatest asset.

Can you tell me more about this and the process?

2nd gens rule! So practical and functional and super reliable. Hope you have it for many years to come.

The old CR-Vs are built to last - just like the old Civics. They sure don’t make them like they used to. Enjoy that baby as long as you can.

Thanks for posting. I’m in the market for a CR-V from this era and read mostly good reviews with occasional sour ones. Something about that build is so nice too! Can’t explain it, just looks simple and clean.

@Pip
I love the body style too! The boxiness is beautiful.

Same car I have, white '06! Best car in the world!

I have an '03 manual and would only get rid of it for an '04 manual.

I had an '05, and I still miss that car. 225,000 miles without a single major mechanical issue.

I miss cars from the early 2000s. Simple cars, no gimmicks; they just work. My dad used to have a 2000 CR-V, and I used to drive a 2002 Accord and Acura TL.

I had the same 2006, same colors. I miss it daily.

Looks nice.
Get you some 17in wheels from a newer model.
They fit & the CR-V will handle better.
